Termination of the Technological Contracts
OSAKA, JAPAN-March 28, 2002-, Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd.(President and CEO, Shozo Katayama) hereby announces that it will officially terminate a contract with Continental AG (Chairman, Manfred Whenever, Headquarters in Hanover, Germany) for exchanging their technologies as well as a complementary off-take contract as of March 31, 2002, both of which have been in effect since March 16, 1982. Similar contracts concluded with subsidiary Continental Tire North America will also be terminated as of March 31, 2002.
