Report content

Reported herein are the Toyo Tire Group's important issues (materiality) for sustainability and achievements by our Group companies in Japan and abroad during fiscal 2020. Given the expectations and interests of stakeholders, we hereby report on our initiatives for materiality concerning matters through which, it is deemed, we exert a significant impact on the economy, the environment, and society, and which can have a substantive effect on evaluations and decision-making by stakeholders. Flagship initiatives for the SDGs in fiscal 2020 are reported under TOPIC.

In addition, this report serves as a Communication on Progress (COP). Through this report, we will provide information to our stakeholders regarding our efforts related to the “United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)” and its principles.

Topic Boundaries

This report takes into consideration the organization’s governance and among the entities covered in consolidated financial reports, reports on the activities of Toyo Tire Corporation and Toyo Tire Group companies (and affiliate companies excluding companies accounted for by equity method). In this report, when disclosing information about the Toyo Tire Corporation as a single entity, it will be referred to as “Toyo Tire Corporation” or “the Company.” When disclosing information about the entire Group, it will be referred to as “TOYO TIRE” or “the Group.” In addition, when disclosing information about each of the Group’s companies, the name of each company will be stated. Furthermore, all Group companies under TOYO TIRE HOLDINGS OF AMERICAS INC. will be referred to as “TTHA Group” and all Group companies under TOYO TIRE EUROPE GMBH will be referred to as “TTE Group.”
Please refer to the Financial Results for the entities that are covered in the consolidated financial reports.

  • *The air suspension business for truck and bus tires was separated from Toyo Tire Corporation and Toyo Chemical Industrial Products Co., Ltd. at the end of June 2020. Toyo Tire Corporation also terminated in June 2021 tire production at Silverstone Berhad, its consolidated subsidiary in Malaysia, which will be dissolved after taking necessary procedures (outside the reporting period of this Sustainability Report). As a result, there have been changes to the structures of relevant organizations and their supply chains, as well as the terms and conditions of contracts with business partners.
