On the 60th Anniversary of Toyo Tire & Rubber

February 23, 2005 OSAKA JAPAN - Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (President and CEO Yoshio Kataoka) will deliver its 60th anniversary message through a variety of events in Japan and around the world, beginning in January 2005 and running throughout the year. This is designed to demonstrate the Company's commitment to shareholders, Toyo Group employees and local communities, and appeal to its ongoing efforts to meet the needs of the people and society it serves.

To give shape to this appeal, the Company has created a logo symbolizing its march of progress as a corporation, and its continuing drive to develop new and better products. Toyo and all of its group companies will band together under the new symbol to launch a series of events worthy of this 60th anniversary.
