OSAKA, JAPAN - June 27, 2005 - Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. (President: Yoshio Kataoka) plans to reorganize its European sales structure by establishing two companies—TOYO TYRE (UK) LTD. in the United Kingdom and TOYO TIRE BENELUX B.V. in the Netherlands—as subsidiaries of Toyo Tire Europe GmbH (TTE), which has been in operation since January 2005.

Currently, the Toyo Group's European presence consists of: TTE, which covers the entire region; TOYO TYRE (UK), the British office of TTE; and TOYO BANDEN NEDERLAND B.V., which covers the Dutch market. Through this reorganization, TOYO TYRE (UK) will be spun off into an independent company and the Dutch operation will expand its geographical coverage to Belgium and Luxemburg.

The move is based on an understanding of the diverse nature of the European market and is intended to: (1) facilitate the implementation of more coordinated and consistent marketing activities to help consolidate TOYO's brand position in the region; (2) give greater authority to local operations to help speed up decision-making processes; and 3) demonstrate and strengthen the Toyo Group's commitment to the European market and build customer confidence in the brand.

TOYO is recognized in Europe as a reliable brand of ultra-high performance and SUV tires. Toyo Tire & Rubber expects that the accelerated decision-making processes and enhanced marketing capabilities resulting from the reorganization will further strengthen TOYO's brand position in the region.
