Toyo to Increase Prices of Replacement Tires in the United States

Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd.'s President and CEO Yoshio Kataoka has announced that its U.S. marketing subsidiary, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. will increase prices effective October 1, 2007.

Prices of raw materials such as natural rubber as well as of petrochemical materials such as synthetic rubber, carbon black and compounding agents continue to remain high. While Toyo is dedicated to making its workplace more productive and its operations more cost effective, business initiatives alone are not sufficient to offset the increased prices of these materials.

Masaharu Yoshimoto, President of Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp., has announced the increases of tires for passenger cars and light trucks in the U.S. market up to 3.5% to help absorb the impact of global increases in costs related to material, transportation and operating costs.
