Toyo Tires Supports the Third Edition 24h Car Race of Dubai
OSAKA, JAPAN - December 21, 2007 - TOYO TIRE & RUBBER Co., LTD. (President and CEO: Yoshio Kataoka) hereby announces that it will be the main sponsor for the "Third Edition TOYO TIRES 24h Car Race of Dubai." The race, which was also sponsored by Toyo Tire & Rubber last year, will be held over three days from January 10 (Thursday) to January 12 (Saturday), 2008, at the Dubai Autodrome circuit in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Now entering its third year of operation, the TOYO TIRES 24h Car Race of Dubai attracts a lot of participants from around the world, which this year will count over 90 drivers from Japan, Australia, and the local Dubai area in addition to the European continent. The race gains its name recognition year by year and thus a high level of competition is expected.
Another feature of this race is the wide range of vehicles that participate, from 2000cc touring cars to genuine endurance machines. In addition to gasoline-powered models, a class has been established for diesel cars, which are attracting attention in Europe as eco-friendly vehicles.
By providing major sponsorship for races such as this, Toyo Tire & Rubber hopes to raise its brand recognition and contribute to the growth of motor sports.
