Toyo Tires to Exhibit at the "InnoTrans 2012" in Germany

Osaka, Japan - September 13, 2012 -- Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (Kenji Nakakura, President) announces that Toyo Tires will be an exhibitor at the “InnoTrans 2012,” the international trade fair for rail transport technology, to be held in Berlin, Germany from September 18 (Tuesday) through September 21 (Friday), 2012.

“InnoTrans 2012” is the world’s largest international trade fair for the rail transport technology industry. The exhibition takes place once every two years, gathering suppliers in the railway industry from around the world, and introducing the latest innovations in rail transport products and technology. At the previous exhibition in 2010, more than 2,000 firms from 45 countries were present as exhibitors, and approximately 100,000 people attended from more than 100 countries around the world.

This trade fair is attracting more attention worldwide, because there has been a vigorous trend in recent years to implement innovative technologies in rail transportation, and plans to expand railways in various countries. This is due to rail transport’s high energy efficiency and low environmental impact in large volume transportation.

This will be the fifth time in which Toyo Tires will be an exhibitor at InnoTrans, since its first participation as exhibitor in 2002. At its booth, Toyo Tires will be presenting products that demonstrate its technological capabilities which support the rail transport infrastructure, such as the conical stopper air springs, used primarily in the European market; the half-hour glass stopper air springs, for which Toyo Tires is the singular supplier in Japan; as well as the air springs used in the N700 family of the Shinkansen (bullet trains), which are being regarded worldwide as the paradigm for the next generation of high-speed rail transportation.

Toyo Tires has its view toward promoting its technology for railway vehicle parts in its Diver-Tech business segment widely throughout the world. By its presence at the InnoTrans, which attracts visitors from the world over, Toyo Tires will actively promote its distinctive technological innovations.
