Toyo to Supply tire to Toyota Team Thailand for Nurburgring

Osaka, Japan -18 June, 2014 - Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (Akira Nobuki, President) announces that the company’s Thailand sales subsidiary Toyo Tire (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (“TTT”; Kanji Kasai, president) will supply tires for the race cars of Toyota Team Thailand, sponsored by Toyota’s Thailand affiliate Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., at the 24 Hours Nurburgring endurance racing event* (held from June 19 to 22, 2014).

As part of its marketing & communications strategy, TTT is engaged in motorsports marketing as proof of the high quality of products produced through the technical ingenuity of Toyo Tires. Since 2013, TTT has been engaged in a partnership to supply tires at the One Make Race series, held primarily in Thailand, and the company’s tires used in the races have earned top marks for quality.
The 24 Hours Nurburgring endurance racing event is regarded as one of the world’s most brutal races, and through its strong partnership formed through the One Make Race series, TTT was chosen as the official tire sponsor of Toyota Team Thailand.

The vehicle entered in this race will be the Toyota Altis, which will be equipped with Toyo’s PROXES R888 and PROXES R1R tires, recognition of the tires’ superior grip performance on slippery and ever-changing road conditions during the 24-hour event as well as their excellent handling through corners.

By supplying the Proxes, the company’s global flagship ultra-high-performance brand tire, Toyo Tires will support the challenge of Toyota Team Thailand as a team partner.

*24 Hours N4 Hours Nurburgring endurance racing event
The world’s largest endurances race, featuring over 170 vehicles, primarily stock cars, with entries including semi-works and privateers. The race, regarded as the world’s most brutal, takes place over 24 hours on a challenging course 25km in length consisting of the Grand Prix Circuit on which F1 events are held and the North Course (Nordschleife) featuring up to 300 meters’ difference in elevation and over 170 corners.
