Enhancement of Digital Corporate Communications"""" Official Website Renewal
Osaka Japan – 27 June, 2014 - Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (Akira Nobuki, president) announced that it has renewed its official website(https://www.toyotires-global.com/).
The Toyo Tires official website provides a comprehensive “company outline” that includes a company overview and management policy, a description of its businesses and CSR initiatives, as well as “corporate activities” including press releases, IR information for analysts and investors, employment information, and technology topics delivered in a timely manner.
The official website, which functions as the gateway to engagement with the company, is positioned as “vital media for actively communicating with the company.” This site renewal is the first in four years.
For the site update, we made an effort to both “resolve issues with the previous site” and “build communications for the smartphone generation.”
Because the old website was constructed with a focus on thoroughness of information communicated as a corporation, it was a text-driven, storage-type site, on which the whereabouts of essential information was unclear and guidance insufficient. The corporate colors were also not sufficiently highlighted and the site had an impersonal feel.
Improvement of the site for this update focused on “functionality” and “content.” The new site is designed with improved placement of navigation buttons and banners and functions to guide users to essential information, has a flow designed to adroitly lead users to valuable content, makes use of design and strategic visuals that communicate the company’s activity at a glance, and is packed with content that conveys the profile of the company.
In terms of function, the theme was to change from “inorganic to organic,” and from “quiet to active” in terms of content. A major feature of the website is the enhancement of solutions and content to connect with the perspectives of visitors with various objectives across multiple layers and facets.
Enhancement of digital communications
(1) Multi-device support
The site utilizes “responsive design” to automatically optimize the display of content for browsing on each type of device, including PCs but also smartphones and tablets. The site was designed to be user friendly and responsive to the information access needs of various stakeholders, such as students and customers.
(2) Enhancement of dynamic corporate info delivery
In addition to periodic releases, we placed an “Events & Topics” section at the center of the site in order to communicate company initiatives in the style of a blog that casually conveys a wide range of initiatives accompanied by a great variety of visuals. We also newly created “TOYO TIRES Tube” where users can view related video content, and through which we will deliver a diverse range of content from around the globe. (3) Enhanced corporate data
The IR page has been completely overhauled, including placement of the current mid-term business plan, which outlines the company’s growth scenario, at the top for easy referencing, as well as a real-time display of the company’s stock price. Updated IR data, such as summary reports and briefings of settlement results, are located at the top section of the page, and performance trends over a five-year period are displayed by quarter using data and graphs. Ease of search has also been improved for news releases through categorization and use of thumbnail displays.
(4) Enhanced communication sites
We have created a special “TOYO TIRES presents “FROM THE FIELD” News from AC Milan” website that will deliver the latest news on football Serie A league powerhouse AC Milan, with which Toyo Tires has recently concluded a sponsorship agreement. We have also tuned up our “ON THE ROAD” website featuring info related to cars and tires and the “Team TOYO TIRES DRIFT” Toyo-sponsored team website. Plus, we created a new official Facebook page to deliver info related to company-sponsored AC Milan.
The environment and manner in which people now access information have undergone a drastic social change due to the dramatic spread of digital devices, such as smartphones and tablets. Toyo Tires believes that it is necessary to always innovate based on environmental changes with regard to methods of communication and forms of delivering information in order to facilitate understanding of our broad scope of company initiatives on the part of people throughout society, including our corporate posture, performance trends and business activities.
We will continue working to enhance the functionality of our official website and deliver appealing content in order to further deepen communication with the many people from all walks of life who support Toyo Tires.
