TOYO TIRES to Be Used on New “Audi Q8” Cars for the North American Market
Hyogo, Japan – November 8, 2018 – Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture; President: Takashi Shimizu) announces that our “TOYO CELSIUS CUV A” has been chosen as tires on new cars for the “Audi Q8” new SUV model that Audi will begin selling in the North American market from this Autumn, and Toyo Tire & Rubber has started to supply Audi with the tires. The “Audi Q8” is a next-generation premium SUV that has prominently sporty styling and a high-performance, high-efficiency power unit equipped with a mild hybrid system. As a flagship model of the Audi brand, the premium SUV demonstrates the unrestrained performance necessary in North America, and demanded high-quality, highly versatile all-season tires to enjoy driving on roads in various weather conditions.
Toyo Tire & Rubber’s “TOYO CELSIUS CUV A” was developed based on the “TOYO CELSIUS CUV,” an all-season tire for SUVs that we have rolled out in the North American market. It achieves Audi’s required performance at a high level by applying all types of tuning for the Audi Q8 OE as a premium SUV.
Toyo Tire & Rubber’s tires are already used on many Audi vehicles as tires for new cars. We will continue to strive toward developing products and improving on technology that achieves versatile performance.
