OPEN COUNTRY Selected as Original Equipment for the All-New MAZDA CX-5 Crossover SUV
Hyogo, Japan - May 21, 2026 - Toyo Tire Corporation (Headquarters: Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture; President & CEO: Takashi Shimizu; hereinafter, “Toyo Tire”) announced today that its OPEN COUNTRY H/T has been selected as original equipment for Mazda Motor Corporation’s all-new crossover SUV “MAZDA CX-5,” which went on sale in March 2026 in the North American market.

The new MAZDA CX-5 was developed under the concept of “New Generation Emotional Daily Comfort.” Beyond advances in design and driving performance, the model pursues greater comfort in a variety of daily driving situations through a spacious, tranquil interior, enhanced ride comfort, and improved quietness.
For this new crossover SUV, Toyo Tire supplies OPEN COUNTRY H/T, developed by combining two proprietary platform technologies: Nano Balance Technology for fundamental material design and T-MODE for tire design support.
