Hyogo, Japan – January 1, 2019 – Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (HQ: Itami, Hyogo, Japan; President: Takashi Shimizu) changed its English name to “Toyo Tire Corporation”.
As the only Japanese manufacturer with the word “tire” in its name, the company will place the mobility business at the core of its operations, and continue to live up to its name with a sense of pride and responsibility toward the tire business by contributing to a mobility society.

In conjunction with this name change, the following new company logo has been established.

New official English company logo

The English company name, “Toyo Tire Corporation,” will be written in the refined, modern “Avenir” font. Avenir means “future” in French; the font is modern and sophisticated while also evoking softness and warmth. Additionally, the letter “o” has an impactful design, forming nearly a perfect circle. Making the “o” a perfect circle represents the sturdiness and quality of the company’s products in addition to expressing the company’s desire to ensure the future as a tire manufacturer.
Going forward, the company will strive to conduct business activities that allow many members of society to connect with the company name and develop an even deeper affinity for Toyo Tire.
